Organza Bags for Protecting Figs From Birds
- Cost: Inexpensive (approx 15 cents per bag)

Organza Bag Overview:
Fruit bagging means covering the fruit with cloth, polythene or paper for a specified period of time. In fact, fruit bagging is not a new technology. It is being widely used in different countries of the world.
So when it comes to protecting figs from birds, my favorite method is to use organza bags. Many people also call it a fruit protection bag. This method is suitable for small types of gardens. This method is very troublesome for large gardens.
It usually takes 10 to 20 seconds to put an organza bag on each fig. However, this method is very effective for small gardeners.
Large gardens have many fig-trees, and each tree has almost a fig. So it is difficult for a gardener to put an organza bag in each one. One thing to keep in mind, however, is that this organza bag will not only protect against insects and birds but also against squirrels and rats. Because they will tear the polythene bag.
Rules to use Organza bags on the fig tree:
All figs of the tree will be under the organza bag to protect figs from the birds. So slip a bag on each fig, drag strings tightly and tie them well with fast overhand knots.
In this way, you do not need to open the bag if you do during the figs. You can easily down the bag from the tree. After going down from the tree, you can get figs out of the bag well.
There are a few things to keep in mind when packing figs.
- At the time of bagging, the figs should not contain any insect eggs or larvae or pathogens.
- Figs should not be covered with any kind of pesticide during bagging.
- When folding the bag, there should be no gaps near the fig tree.
- Do not use torn or cracked bags.

Netting Overview
This Netting method is an effective method to protect figs from birds. This netting means to cover the entire fig tree with a net.
This is a very effective and simple method. However, it is an expensive method. If this method is used, not a single fig can be eaten by a bird.
How to set a net on a fig tree
When new leaves come on the tree in spring, it is better to plant nets on the tree. Because later the net does not bend because of the leaves. However, it must be remembered that it is planted before the fruit of the tree. If you want to place it after the fruit has come to the tree, there is a possibility that the bird will eat the fruit before that.
Set aside a day without air to replace the net. Because in the wind you can go up to the top of the tree.
Now your job is to determine the size of the net by the size of the tree. Measure the height and width of the tree. Now add these two sizes and multiply by 2. Purchase the net based on the result that will come.
